COMPACTED WIRE ROPES

Compacting strands operation, is a cold conformation process, obtained by passing through a set of compactor rollers.

The following is obtained with the compaction process:

  •  Increase in the metal section of the wire strand
  • Wider contact surfaces between wires
  • Less permeable, more regular, and softer wire strand surface
  • More uniform distribution of wire tension
  • Increased dimensional stability of the wire strand
  • Possibility of obtaining a greater modulus of elasticity

Compaction is used to produce steel cables with higher load capacity and cables that work with strong lateral pressures or abrasion.

Compared with round wire steel cables, compacted ropes have a stable structure and small structural elongation, they have the highest breaking stress, and are more wear-resistant.

Our cables are manufactured under ASTM A 1023 M – latest version
